Dear Fellows and Guests,
I expect that
you are all almost as excited as I am about our forthcoming meeting in
Queenstown, New Zealand! It promises to be a memorable
event
with high
quality tours and activities and an excellent
educational programme!
I am writing to you now with some last minute news and a few reminders.
Firstly, I am
delighted to report that the meeting hotel, the Crowne Plaza,
has generously offered to include full buffet breakfast in the daily room rate
for all those Fellows and guests who booked their accommodation online or by phone through the
link provided through our meeting web page. We are very
appreciative of this gesture in what are still challenging financial
times.
Secondly, I would like to inform you that I have set up a forum on the IAML website (you will need to login and then click on forums under Member Options in the left-hand column to see this). I hope that you will be able to use this to liaise with each other to arrange tours and trips during the meeting. At the moment, there is a request in this forum for good golfers to join Greg Howe and Greg Brown for a golf game to remember on one of New Zealand's fine courses. You could also use the forum to arrange ski days or other tours. If you have any problems using the forum, please let me know and I will be happy to help.
Finally, I just
wanted to remind you to bring suitable clothes with you to
Queenstown. Warm, casual outdoor clothing, in layers,
is
advisable for all tours as the weather can be changeable at this time of year.
The dress
code is otherwise relaxed and informal, the only exception
being the President's
Dinner which will be smart casual (but
definitely no suits required!)
I am delighted to report that we are currently
expecting over 100 participants (Fellows and guests) in total... and are
still anticipating more. The
meeting
registration list is available on the
meeting web page www.iaml.org/events/queenstown - login and then scroll down to Event Options and click on Registration List to view the latest list.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about the meeting.
With best wishes,
Donna
