Admission Criteria
To help you the Admission Criteria are set out below.
- The candidate must be a practising lawyer of at least 10 years standing who:
- Is recognised by his or her peers as one of the most experienced and skilled family law practitioners in their respective jurisdiction; and
- Has an international element in his or her practice; and
- Demonstrates a high level of competence in matters involving international family law issues; and
- Holds specialist accreditation or certification where this is mandated in his or her jurisdiction.
- A significant amount of the candidate's work during each of the last five years must be in matrimonial/family law; and the candidate must have had family/matrimonial cases with an international element in each of those years.
- The candidate must be competent in the English language.
- The candidate must be of good standing both in his or her own jurisdiction, and with any international professional organisation of which he or she is a member.
- For USA candidates, Board certification is required where this is available in the State in which the candidate practises.
