Admission Criteria

To help you the Admission Criteria are set out below.

  1. The candidate must be a practising lawyer of at least 10 years standing who:
    • Is recognised by his or her peers as one of the most experienced and skilled family law practitioners in their respective jurisdiction; and
    • Has an international element in his or her practice; and
    • Demonstrates a high level of competence in matters involving international family law issues; and
    • Holds specialist accreditation or certification where this is mandated in his or her jurisdiction.
  2. A significant amount of the candidate's work during each of the last five years must be in matrimonial/family law; and the candidate must have had family/matrimonial cases with an international element in each of those years.
  3. The candidate must be competent in the English language.
  4. The candidate must be of good standing both in his or her own jurisdiction, and with any international professional organisation of which he or she is a member.
  5. For USA candidates, Board certification is required where this is available in the State in which the candidate practises.
